Give Sky a call for further troubleshooting- they may take you through a factory reset, but beyond that, if the issue still occurs you'll need to pay for a repair or replacement yourself.
When buying a TV, a device used regularly in most households and which costs hundreds of pounds, it's always wise to obtain a longer warranty. With Sky Glass this would normally be with Sky Protect insurance at additional cost to the customer. Alternatively you can buy a smart TV from somewhere like John Lewis or Richer Sounds, retailers who both provide 5 or 6 year warranties at no extra cost to the customer, and then you can add a Sky Stream puck to it.

Hi,

My Sky Glass (3 years old) suddenly developed an issue where voices on the television sound muffled/underwater.

This affects almost all channels and apps but not channel 5.

Changing the audio output to "PCM Stereo" in settings made no difference

As a workaround I noticed putting it into music mode solves the issue for most channels.

However the issue persisted on sports channels when the broadcast was a live event (it would be fine during an advert break the the commentators would be muffled once the sport came back on)

As a further workaround I noticed changing 'Audio Track' from English to 'English AD' meant I could suddenly hear the sports commentators talking clearly again.

As for Apps...Netflix I need to switch from 'English 5.1' to just English

Prime and Apple TV there appears to be no workaround and these apps are currently unwatchable for me.

So is this a hardware issue ? Or could Sky do anything with the software at their end ?

Its just under 3 years old and I have no intention of buying a new Glass or paying for costly call outs

I have tried rebooting it yes.

Theres still the factory reset available but I'm loathe to do this for obvious reasons.

I was just curious as to whether people knew if this was a hardware fault or software.

if it's the former I'd be forced to live with the workarounds I've mentioned for the foreseeable

Understand it's now out of warranty but having issues with a TV after under 3 years is very disappointing and not something I've experienced with other manufacturers in the past
