Hi @ij3 Try unplugging your Glass TV for a few minutes to see if that helps. If not leave it unplugged overnight but if the problem persists I would call Sky for some troubleshooting. I had an issue with a vertical line a couple of years ago and this worked in this instance.

If Sky is your mobile provider you can phone them by dialling 150.

If it is not your provider follow this link https://www.sky.com/help/home and scroll down to need more help, click on this and you will see an 0333 phone number to use to call Sky. Unfortunately I cannot include the actual phone number as the forum filters will block it.

To get past the chatbot just stay silent when it asks you questions and it will eventually put you through to the Customer Services team.

Apparently the quieter times to phone are 7-8 am or 8-9pm

@ij3 wrote:

we see a dark patch approx 5x4 cm when light background - it appears as though the problem is with the screen

Use the YouTube app and search for 'screen uniformity test' videos. These will normally show full-screen colours and grey-scales which can help identify areas of the screen which have poor or inconsistent backlighting, or damage.

It may be that you have what is known as DSE or Dirty Screen Effect which is due to poor uniformity of the backlight array in the TV. Many TVs, not just Glass, which use VA type LCD panels can suffer from it.

Or it could be that one of the backlight arrays behind the screen is failing, in which case you'd need to get Sky to swap the TV under warranty. (If you are still within the 2 year warranty period.)
