I have sky broadband too, so they couldn't fob me off with 'its your Internet provider'. I told them/confirmed that my Internet connection was great to other devices as I have x2 pc's on wired connection and multiple other device on WiFi (x4 tablets x4 phones, laptop all on WiFi all working great.) It was just my TV that was not working with WiFi it was clear that it was just the skyglass tv dropping the Internet connection on both wired and WiFi.

My Sky glass TV has stopped working.. It says it can't connect to the router but everything else that uses the internet is working fine. I've tried switching the TV off and back on again abd the router too. It hasn't worked for over 2 days. What is wrong?

It won't connect to WiFi . The Tv says there is no internet and to check the router but I've done all that. I think there must be something wrong with the TV.

These solutions are all very well but the question should be, "why does this keep happening?" and "why do I keep having to go through this process?" and "what are Sky doing about it?".

It's obvioulsy a software bug and it needs fixing.

SKY -FIX THIS!!!!

sadly sky only tells you how to fix it each time, rather than doing something about it permanently. The way to fix it is to fiddle. That's their solution. Fiddle with the settings, restart your TV, restart your router, re attach to the router. All things you would do yourself anyway.

Eventually i managed to fix it.

But they won't stop it happening. They need to make a software upgrade to stop it completely. It's clearly a bug.

sorry for venting.

thanks

tc

I think we will end up asking for a refund and swapping it as it's sooooo annoying and not cheap!!

Same thing here. It's been happening me for a year and every time I muster up the time to sit on the phone with Sky they tell me there's nothing they can do. They will tell me it's my briadband service provider. My broadband service provider is also Sky. In fact, they can't even tell from their screen that I'm also a Sky internet customer. They call me 6 times a year trying to sell me internet, even though I have it from the already. When I ask them to join the 2 accounts they cannot find the internet account. On the issue we are talking about, at least once a week I have to turn everything off at the wall, wait the 5 mins and just carry on. It would be a great service if you could just get someone on the phone to chat to.

Mine is a pain the bahookie too. So frustrating that NOTHING seems to work long term.

Router off, router on. TV off, TV on, swapping ethernet cables. Unplugging cable from back of TV, plugging them back in (not easy due my TV location and the weight of 55" Skyglass TV).

Also, as i have cameras using wifi, if i restart the router i them have to redo the internet link to these.

I have Sky Broadband, Sky Internet too so you would assume......i know, i know....that it would all just WORK!

As i type this, my internet is going at full pelt (for my area anyway) but my TV is up and down.

it is not resolved and they won't resolve it all the time their subscribers (victims?) fix it themselves and help each other out by posting advice on here. All the time we do that, they don't have to. I moved to sky glass because i got a new fibre broadband service. But with that comes options - many options. I'm already almost a year into my sky glass contract. After another year I will be able to weigh up my options and go to another provider which will be a shame as I am a Sky VIP customer all the way back to the analogue days.

If they don't show some more concern or reaction to this I'll walk.

Hi @Mazzy_S

is there a reason you have 6 boosters? They are not very efficient - it maybe worth connecting your glass tv via Ethernet or powerline adapters directly to the router.

also a better alternative to boosters is a wifi mesh system

I have yhe same problem with my 558nch SkyGlass TV. It randomly disconnects or loses Internet connection. I have ethernet plugged in and have test independently with each, the WiFi and ethernet. I have done all the resetting to the TV and checked cable ect. My Sky super fast broadband with new router works great with other device, no pro lem with Internet. I think there is a software glitch with the way SkyGlass works with the Internet. Wondering if anyone has had this problem with Sky Glass 2nd gen TVs?
