Continue where I left off

Can someone please explain in simple terms how, when watching a series or halfway through a programme I can continue from where I last was, and with a series, see which programmes I have watched. I've found some limited guidance but cannot find blue lines across the top of picture tiles or a continuation bar. In very simple terms please .... this is the only irritating part of glass I am having difficulty with.

Access the programme from the Continue Watching rail on the Home Screen. It's usually the most reliable way.

It can be a bit iffy over programmes watched on iPlayer, Prime or Netflix I've found. Sometimes if you've stopped part way through an episode then next time you want to watch it goes onto the next episode. In those cases you have to manually go into the app, find the programme and the episode you were watching and re-select it. It doesn't happen often.

Many thanks for that. I was hunting high and low for the rail and should have scrolled down further. At present I'm pondering Sky Q again and buy a better TV? struggling with the changed interface.
