Voice control not working Glass TV

Hi Folks,

Sadly after 7 yrs I have left Sky as couldn't even budge in a price.

However I am still in contract with the actual glass TV .

Since yesterday when my TV subscription ended I can no longer use the voice input on remote.

I would of thought the TV would still have all it's functions.

Any Ideas as to why this is .

I believe that the voice commands work without the sky servers so if you're not a sky customer any longer then you unfortunately won't have access to that facility. Happy to be corrected if anyone has any further info.

Thanks for your reply.

I would of thought as I am still under contract for the actual TV everything on the TV would still be functional.

Maybe you are correct and if you are then in my opinion the TV is no longer doing what it's advertised to do

Even without a streaming subscription everything should still work..

Yeh , unfortunately the contract for the TV is a consumer credit agreement ( CCA ) , effectively a loan independent of whatever TV package you get from Sky. Like buying from Currys or wherever on a payment plan.

I'm not a techie at all but even though I would of thought I could of still pressed remote or talked to the actual TV for the likes of settings etc rather than scrolling all the way down...

@caityboo have you tried the usual reset, by switching,off at the plug for 30 seconds?

Oh. I will try that

However I noticed on another post that once the streaming service is left.

The Glass TV will still function but without the voice control which in my opinion is disgraceful considering I'm still paying for the TV.

Yes, that's correct, I'm aafraid. It's a feature you lose if you don't have a subscription.

Mind, the above only mentions hands free voice commands.

Wondering if the remote control voice may still work.

Might be worth trying a repairing of the remote to see if it brings back the remote control voice.
