My TV is out of warranty. Tried a hard reset to no avail. Any advice?

You'll need to pay for a repair or see if you can pick up one secondhand. There's a lot of First Gens available now for less than Sky will quote you.

I sold mine recently to someone who had been quoted £500 by Sky to replace their damaged Glass. They got my old one for much less as I only wanted what was left on the CCA for it.

Gumtree, eBay or Facebook are good places to look though most sellers will expect you to collect it from them due to the size and weight.

Have you tried having it unplugged at the wall for 10 minutes or so and seeing if it changes when it comes back?

If not the screen has probably broken and unfortunately this becomes a replacement or possibly an insurance claim if you have protection for it if it's out of warranty.
