Weird Remote issue

So my Sky Glass remote is being weird. Got a new one and it's the same.
If the tv has been on standby for a few hours and I tap the power button on the remote, nothing happens.
Take the batteries out, put them back in, it works fine.
It means I'm very good at taking the back off and on but otherwise it's a bit of a pain.
Any suggestions as to what's going on?

First try pulling the plug for 10 mins

dies the home button on the remote turn the tv on ?

next try resetting the remote

I The remote can be reset and paired again following these steps;

Press and hold 7 and 9 together on your Sky remote for three seconds.
Press and hold 4 and 6 together for three seconds.
Press and hold 1 and 3 together for three seconds and follow the on-screen instructions.

failing all these a new remote can be requested under warranty on the following link
