I used to be able to negotiate a better deal every 18months with Q- Just wondered if anybody has had any joy negotiating a better deal on Sky Glass. ? Every bill is going up at the moment and i need to shave money off wherever i can.

Every bill is going up at the moment and i need to shave money off wherever i can.

You won't get a better deal on your loan repayments for the cost of the TV itself (if you bought it on finance) but the streaming TV subscription costs can be negotiated.

When you first bought Glass did you sign up to an 18 month Entertainment + Netflix subscription? What did you do at the end of that 18 month period? Did you agree to a new 18 month contract? Or are you on a 31 day rolling contract? Items such as ad-skipping and UHD/Atmos are always on 31 day rolling contracts so they can be removed at any time regardless of what contract you are on.

Thanks for your reply

I accept the finance repayments for the Tv itself were set in stone- which isnt an issue- It was strictly the entertainment package- box sets, netflix, etc- Ive heard in the past some people got ad skipping free and better prices on their package but cant seem to find it when looking today- I ionly found out today my broadband is up for renewal- so im changing to Toob- just wondered if others have had much joy on the TV package

At the end of the 31 day notice period it's very common to be offered at least one of them (sometimes both) for free for a couple of months at least, or discounted for a longer period. That's certainly what I've found to be the case.

Hi @cmc11

I managed to secure some discounts by moving from 31 days rolling contract to a 18 month contract, although prices still do increase in contract. It would be worth calling and speaking to the retentions team to see if they can help.

MikeAlanR

I have been a sky customer for over 25 year collectively. Latest custom is more than 15 years unbroken viewing. Currently I am out of contract, my contract is very simple, no sports & no Movies and Currently being charge almost a £100 per month. I call them today and they claim all they can offer is a contract for almost £79pm. I asked the agent to get someone to call me to discuss this further and reminded her of my logalty, her response was "We have customers who have neen with us for 30 years! And she could not do that, but I can call them if I want!! I asked her why would Cust Servs or retention not call me. I am so fed up with the call

I hang up, if this is sky's narrative and behaviour it might be worth looking elsewhere. They have demonstrated they don't really care about loyalty, customer service or retention

I am now going to generate a complaint. J Hirschl

As I've remarked elsewhere in this context, Sky is literally not the same company as back then : since 2018 it's been the European division of an American cable corporation, and that does tend to change priorities.
