Automatic Sky Sports Upgrade

Hello.

I received an email in May saying that my exisitng Sky Sports package (football & premier league) will be retired in August and I will automatically be upgraded to Sky Sports Complete, so my question is does anyone know when the automatic upgrade to Sky Sports Complete will happen as we are now in August and all other Sky Sports channels are still saying to access them I need to upgrade.

Came here to ask exactly the same thing! EFL started tonight but couldn't watch as still not been upgraded yet. Some more information/timeline would be very much appreciated

Yes I would have thought that it would have happened ahead of the new football season. An actual date of when the upgrade is to happen would be great.

I received the same email in may too. I've been trying to get help with this today, cant speak to a person. Thought it would have upgraded by now. When I go onto the "my sky" app its says i can pay 20 quid a month for it, when got told it would be free

I have been on to Sky Yesterday with regards to the email sent with regards to the August upgrade to Sky sports Complete ALL AT NO EXTRA COST and was told by the telephone operative/helper that she new nothing about this offer but would I like to upgrate at a reduced cost. I SAID NO its a free upgrade, that fell on deaf ears so I disscontinued the call.

I have just tried again this morning and have been told by the operative that he had heard of this offer before but the only way you will get it is if you take out a new 24 month contract at £2 less tha I am paying at the moment, this I don't want to do as I plan to ditch Sky completly when my contract expires in 4 months time, I explained that the email clearly states its a free upgrade with no mention of having to take out a new contract, but he wouldn't have it, so again I disscontinued the call.

Is there anyone at Sky that can actually tell you the truth behind the email, or is it just a scamm to get a new contract out of us, does anyone know ?

It's not a scam email. We were informed of this by Community staff in a closed forum.

As I mentioned. Others are contacting CS and getting bad advice. The issue is CS not knowing of the offer. Their response is to offer you a new 24 month contract to include what is being offered for free

some will take this up. If there is no increase in price. BUT the key thing is being locked into a new contract. Whilst the use of the word scam may be extreme in this instance, due to the lack of customer service alignment people are being tricked into new contracts

as it stands on 27 August we still have not received the upgrade. I don't care about the upgrade. It's free. I didn't have it last month. But do not promise something for free, delay delivery knowing people will contact CS and some, even 10% will be tricked into a new contract. That is the issue.

I can understand why you are rightly pointing out the possibility of being locked into a new contract but we have asked the Sky Community managers on here about this and what they have told the superusers is that there is no new contract once the upgrade takes place.
