Friday evening we were watching a recorded concert on planner when the programme suddenly went off and couldn't get the HD box working. Did the usual reboot; switched off at the wall etc. The light at the front of the box comes up red, but won't go to green and just flashes red.
left the system powered off overnight to see if that helped, but exactly the same. Can now only use the tv on freesat and no access to Sky or the planner

Constant flashing red power LED usually means a broken power supply

Please Note: Sky+ is now a legacy/obsolete service that Sky are replacing with their newer services: Sky Glass, and/or Sky Stream.

Satellite TV is on its last legs and is being replaced due to the lack of any new satellites being launched to replace the existing ones that are at the end of their service

@Alex19601 the power supply circuitry in the box has failed, as @Annie+UK posted. You might be able to find a specialist technician to repair it if you're averse to swapping to Sky Q or Sky Stream. Various specialists used to provide a kit of parts to repair the failed circuit board, though I suspect they're long since discontinued - but it does indicate that the knowledge is out there to repair Sky+ boxes.
