I found the download size had to press the i button. I downloaded 679 MB and it took 22 minutes form when the red recording light started and stoped. I checked the speed before and after and was consistant at 18.5 Mbps. I upgrades my internet from 6 -+ .5Mbps to the best available in my area 18.5 Mbps and it has not changed the catchup download speed. Any idea what is stopping me getting a faster download

I have got a faster internet connection, but on sky catchup it still takes 20-25minutes to download a 1 hour SD program. Do I need to change a setting on my sky box

If your Sky box is connected over wifi, it's most likely poor wifi reception where your Sky is located that is the problem. Running a speed test close to your Sky box will confirm one way or the other. An ethernet cable connection will do better justice to your faster speed.

There's no setting in your Sky box which will improve speed, but you may find changing the wireless channel your router is using will. I have a couple of devices that won't connect at all if the wireless channel isn't optimal

Thank you, I do not know how to change the channel , so I am trying using a lan cable from modem to the sky box, it does not seem any faster but I will leave it for a day to see how it goes. What sort of speed should I expect to have with my present internet speed of 18.5Mbps

18.5mb is only 2.3MB per second, so 1 GB would take just over 7 minutes at optimal speed with nothing else using the broadband
