I change the parental settings to say no pin is required for anything yet I'm still being asked during the day for a pin for any channel that is showing a rating of 12+. It's very frustrating

You can blame OFCOM. Their mandatory daytime protection regulations require some content to be protected when viewed in the daytime, regardless of an individual's wishes

If you're watching age restricted content pre watershed then it'll always ask for the pin regardless of your settings. It is an Ofcom requirement that Sky must adhere to and cannot be overriden by Sky or you.

That's the trigger point: it's perhaps worth considering that until the expansion of Mandatory Daytime Protection control a few years ago such content couldn't be broadcast at all on any non-Cinema channel before the watershed.

I also tried to set Parental Settings to avoid the PIN. Everything under "Family setting" is set to off, except "PIN on purchase". I have also checked that "Kid Safe Mode" is turned off. However, I am still asked for a PIN when I try to watch adult content DURING the post-watershed period. So it does not appear to be just about Ofcom requirements. Anymore thoughts welcome, please.

A Mandatory Daytime Protection challenge on broadcast content after the watershed is by definition a glitch, but could happen with on-demand access even though it's inappropriate.

Given Sky+ is now way past end of life and in use by a very small percentage of Sky television subscribers I very much doubt any remaining inherent issues are going to be resolved.
