No sound on sky + box

Sky + box sound has gone. All other apps on tv working fine. 1080i appearing in top left hand corner. Sound went last night. Back this morning and gone again. I've turned on and off several times.

If you haven;t already done so, please may I sggest you try a full power off (switch off at misn or unplug) of your TV

We sometimes find that this restores sound for customers when they loose sound.

A few things to try:

Turn both your Sky box and your TV off at the plug. Disconnect the HDMI cable, swap the ends over and reconnect the cable. After 4 minutes turn your Sky box and tv back on and see if it's fixed.

Try a different HDMI socket at the tv end.

Check that the 'Digital Audio Output - HDMI' setting in your Sky's box Sound menu is 'Normal'.

Thanks for your reply. I did that several times with no success. Sound comes back occasionally and then the 1080i is gone. Trouble is it's not reliable. Pot luck !

Thanks for all the suggestions. I tried them and nothing worked. I cleaned the remote control and I think the mute button was getting stuck occasionally leading to the loss of sound. I've picked it out a bit and so far so good. 😊
