stuck on sky intro

My sky HD+ box is stuck on 998 Sky Intro. I have changed the batteries and taken the plug out numerous times. Sometimes I get a different screen. For example, the sky intro video played on a loop. I can change inputs but changing to HDMI 2 (Prime etc) and back to HDMI 1 makes no difference. Any ideas gratefully received.

What happens if you press the ch+/- buttons on the top of the box?

Pull the Sky boxes plug from the mains for at least 5 miutes then plug it in again

If that fails try Q04 (Software update) in my Sky Plus FAQ, though this should not be any better than the above

Please Note: Sky+ is now a legacy/obsolete service that Sky are replacing with their newer services: Sky Q (all issues will be fixed during a Sky Q install), Sky Glass and Sky Stream

You may have move to Sky Q, as during the move all issues will be resolved as part of the install, there is also the option of Sky Glass or Sky Stream, if you want to move away from satellite TV and use the Internet

Annie+ UK, I took up your suggestion of moving to Sky Q as nothing else seemed to work. Thanks for taking the time to suggest ideas - much appreciated.
