Hi all, I have a wall mounted TV that has a SKY+ HD box that is kept in the loft above. There is a magic eye that allows the remote to control the Sky box. All has been working fine until a week ago when the remote stopped working and all sky functionality stopped. I changed the batteries but nothing changed. I went up in to the loft and I could use the box controls to chabe channels, bring up menus etc.

So I resorted to re-booting the box and once complete all was ok again and the remote would work properly.....until it happened again. So every day since the remote stops working usually mid afternoon but not always and I trudge up in the loft and re-boot it and it works again.

Has anyone had this problem and know of a solution? As much as I need the exercise, going up and down loft ladders is a dangerous thing!

Thanks

That's an odd fault. The fact that restarting your Sky box temporarily fixes it suggests that the power supply from your Sky box's RF2 socket might be overloaded and shuts down to protect itself. Restarting your Sky box resets it. Why it would shut down after a while rather than instantly isn't clear.

What happens to the power LED on the magic eye when it stops responding to the remote?
