Hi my sky+ box only seems to work on a few random channels When i have selected bbc1 it displays... "There os a technical fault with this channel"

To confirm - this is a Sky+ box?

If so, try restarting it by switching off at the plug for 4 minutes.

If it's a Sky+ box (and not Sky+HD) many channels will no longer work, over the past 12 months a lot of channels have either switched to HD only or changed to a more modern transmission mode that isn't supported by Sky+ boxes.

already tried several different things & this morning unplugged absolutely every wire, plug & connection for the sky box & router for 30 minutes while i popped out to the post office (basically i had to then connect everything like it had just arrived), still no joy

It only started to happen 2 hours ago & the channels i can & can't get varys every time i change channel (right now i can get 15 channels, 30 minutes ago i could get all of them & 2 hours ago i could only get Sky Max) oh & it sometimes lets me watch what's recorded & sometimes not.

@Pip-5 What are your Signal Strengths/Quality in Services > Settings > Signal?

All 4 white bars should be at least half way across.

Hi, thanks for your help, but it has now completely packed-in & everything has gone black/white/blury, then turns itself off, having spoken to an old sky engineer, it's one of the rarer ways they go faulty & beyond repair.

Then your options are to switch to Sky Q or Sky Stream.

Don't be tempted to buy a used Sky+HD Box from anywhere as the viewing card can no longer be paired with it
