The ability to watch any HD channel in the 'base' package (current one being Signature) in HD, including downloads from On demand/Catch up (& older package of Box Sets) . It also applies to channels in the SKY Kids package

You do not need it for some Free To Air channels like BBC & ITV although Ch4/CH5 are a bit odd that you can watch in HD without but not download.

Some channels are Free to Air in SD but not HD & these do require the HD add on to watch in HD- these include U&W, U&Yesterday U&Dave

Do you mean the HD Add-on subscription?

Sky+HD is the older satellite TV box (pre Sky Q), which you may well still be using, rather than a "pack".
