You might be able to find a specialist repairer who will do the job, but in honesty, the cost would be more than the box is worth.

sky+ hard disk drive failure

My sky+ box has not worked properly for a while because the hard disk drive has failed. I have been through all the usual procedures on the sky box but the system resets etc have no effect. I need to actually speak to someone about a replacement hard disk drive (I realise this may be a tall order!) or upgrading to skyQ (not so keen on this option as it doesn't seem fair to me that existing sky customers have to pay more for skyQ than new customers! So much for brand loyalty!) Any tips gratefully received, as if I can't get this sorted i may have to cancel my sky subscription altogether. I'm paying £45 a month at the mo and I just have the basic package anyway, but have been unable to use the sky+ features for months.

I don't think Sky will provide a hard disc for you to self assemble.

Althought it may not be as cheap as new customers are offered it may be cheaper to move to Sky Q than you're currently paying.
