Good Morning,

I have had an unbroken membership of Sky since 1997 at the same property but am now about to cancel.

Please can I have some advice on a couple of points.

1) How is it best to do this cancellation and when.

2) The equipment - box and dish - is not original and has been bought by me over the years. will Sky want to have it returned?

My current system is Sky+HD and the contract expires on 3rd December 2024.

Regards,

Roy.

Good Morning,

I have had an unbroken membership of Sky since 1997 at the same property but am now about to cancel.

Please can I have some advice on a couple of points.

1) How is it best to do this cancellation and when.

You have to give 31 days notice to cancel, so 31 days before your contract expires would be the time to call. Calling is the quickest way to cancel.

Note that because you're billed in advance, you'll pay beyond the date your services end, but Sky will refund the overpayment.

2) The equipment - box and dish - is not original and has been bought by me over the years. will Sky want to have it returned?

My current system is Sky+HD and the contract expires on 3rd December 2024.

You own your Sky box and dish etc. Nothing has to be returned to Sky.

Regards,

Roy.

You can choose to return the box to Sky if you wish: they have a legal responsibility to dispose of it appropriately.

https://www.sky.com/help/articles/recycle-sky-equipment

Sky won't attend to remove dishes and dish cabling.
