Your Sky box hasn't received updates for several years already. It's up to you if you wish to upgrade to Sky Q now or would rather wait until there's an actual need to, for example, when your Sky box hard disk fails.

If you want to upgrade, call the number in the letter.

There's no need to do so.

A cynical person might suggest Sky has rather carefully worded their communication so it's likely to be read that way....

If you are happy with everything as it is at present then you do not have to upgrade.

As the others have advised lack of updates is not an issue, although the now quite old boxes may develop hardware faults - but, also, may last a long time

Should you still consider Q (or just for info), you may, also, wish to read some notes I have made for people considering switching from SKY +/HD to SKY Q
