Can’t reset sky+ plus remote

The volume and mute buttons don't work on the remote. I have tried unplugging the sky box & pressing 6 & 9 etc on the controller but the led light doesn't flash twice

Bit confused. If it's a Sky+ remote you need to programme it with the code for your TV. This explains how: https://www.sky.com/help/program-your-remote

I have tried theses steps a few times but nothing works. When I try to reset the control the red button doesn't flash twice. I have tried to unplug the sky box also

It is a sky+ remote as that is the sky box I have!

To reset a sky plus remote you can program it with code 999 or take the batteries out and press select for 30 seconds

I did not understand what holding 6 & 9 was supposed to do as the above is the reset instructions 😞

@Cae+Lloi as @Annie+UK pressing 6 & 9 doesn't reset the remote. The remote will just see it as a new, incomplete code, which is why the LED doesn't flash.

@Mark39 The newer system have procedures that require two number keys be held down at the same time, this is why I thought the OP did not have a Sky Plus remote

You're right it does, but not 6 + 9.

7+9 resets a Sky Q remote.

Have you reset your remote using one of the procedures I outlined above? You can then try programming it for your TV after the reset

999 just resets the remote. I wouldn't expect anything to happen, apart from the LED in the remote flashing twice to confirm success. It just means that any TV code you had previously programmed will be deleted.

Next step would be to re-programme your remote with the correct code for your TV.

You are not programming the remote properly 😞

Press TV on your Sky Remote
Hold down select and the red button at the same time until the red light at the top of your Sky remote flashes twice,
type 9 9 9 and press Select.

These instruction are given by the link Mark provided and should also be on a sticker on the battery door

I think they just typed 999 without following the full programming instructions thus the message "channel not available" 😞

Let's go back to basics. What are you trying to do? If you're trying to reset your remote, why? What problem are you having that makes a reset necessary?
