Sky remote code for Onkyo receiver

I unfortunately took more than 10 mins to change the batteries in my Sky+HD remote and now can't control the volume on my Onkyo amplifier.

I know the code is 0163, but the remote won't accept it, ie no double flash after entering code.

Someone on another forum mentioned "Two step programming" but I can't find out what that means.

He gave the link: Invalid parameters specified | Sky Community but that doesn't work now.

Can somebody assist me, please?

I was pressing select and red (as per the instructions) instead of select and one.
