Sky +hd connection to new Toshiba smart tv

Hi there, I've just upgraded my tv to a Toshiba smart fire tv. I have used the same hdmi cable that was previously working on my old tv but I cannot get the tv to recognise the sky+hd box. (It won't recognise my dvd player in the other hdmi port either.) I have tried switching off everything at the wall and starting again but to no avail. I'm completely stumped. I've been to the inputs but it wont allow me to do anything to help. Can anyone help please? Thanks in advance.

Can you clarify what you mean by not recognising your Sky box? Do you get picture and / or sound?

It won't connect at all. Doesn't switch over to the skybox at all .

What happens if you manually switch to the HDMI port your Sky box is connected to, using your TV remote?

It have tried selecting manually but nothing.

@Han3 I'd suggest having a look at your TV user guide. Logically it doesn't sound like a Sky box fault, as it worked before with your old TV - and your DVD player won't connect either. If the user guide isn't any help, I'd look for Toshiba support.

I've just upgraded to Toshiba fire TV and have had exactly the same problem. Won't connect to either Sky box or blu-ray player when you press on the input function

Hey I contacted Toshiba in the end and problem was solved. Even though tv was new, it needed to upgrade so I was told to reset factory settings and start again, which I did, and like magic m, it all worked again. Good luck x

Has the manufacturer/seller of the TV given an answer when you contacted them?
