Recommended remote for LG TV

I'm trying to choose a remote that has a good level of functionality with both a Sky+ box and an LG OLED C2 TV, and am hoping to find some help!

I've had a terrible time with the replacement Sky+ remotes on Amazon; they're just lasting a year before a button becomes reluctant to operate, and eventually non-functional. I've tried the technique of opening the remote and wiping the board to spread out the gel, it's just provided brief reprieves.

I'm also not sure if the Sky+ remote can control the settings, inputs or keyboard on the TV... But, to be fair, have been unable to try so far (my current Sky remote barely works - it's a year and a half old - and I can't even enter the TV code).

The LG Magic Remote that came with the TV controls most functions on Sky, but there are no buttons for play/forward/rewind/menu, so activating these functions requires some clunky side-menu antics, and there's no way to way to trigger the "record" function at all.

I tried buying an older LG remote (AKB75095308), but the record button still doesn't communicate with the Sky box, and indeed the entire remote sometimes stops communicating.

So I'm getting kind of desperate for help here!

Which webOS version do you have on your TV.

The "..." button should bring up a simple menu with the functions you require using the LG magic remote🙂

I don't think there any good quality Sky+ HD remotes available anymore☹️

The last one I got had sticky stiff buttons from day one, so I much prefer using the LG magic remote😉

Cheers for replying! WebOS TV Version is 7.3.1-44.

I do mostly use the Magic Remote with the ... side-menu functions at the moment, but a) it's a bit clunky, and b) there's no record function. What do you use to record things on Sky+?

I can't because I'm ex-subscription... I only use the Sky+ HD as a sat receiver☹️

So the LG magic remote is OK for that.... well better than any Sky+ HD replacement remotes available now🤔
