Is a SKY SC030 remote control a direct replacement for a URC 1616-10-01RO1 SKYHD rev.10 remote control.

A quick search online indicates that the two are compatible. The SC030 remote is an official Sky remote. If your current remote controls your TV, you'll need to programme the replacement with the correct code in order to do the same.

Remote will control television but will not control SKY box, will it need programming for SKY box.

After conrolling the TV have you then pressed the Sky button before trying to get it to control the box ?

You only program Sky remotes to a TV they already know how to control the Sky box as that is their primary purpose

I pressed the sky button but nothing happened, suspect fault on remote as works fine on old remote.

No is not a sky+ box it is quite old now so this could be the reason.

The Remote is configurable, but what type of Sky box is it?

Sky Digibox (no HD and no record or playback capability)

Sky+ (records but no HD)

Or Sky+HD (records and has HD)?

I think it is a skydigibox as it has no playback facility on it.

OK, try this:

1 Press "TV"
2 Press and hold "Select" and "i" together until red LED flashes twice
3 Press "0" to operate a Digibox

4 Press "Select" - red LED should flash twice
5 Press "Sky" and the remote should now control your Digibox.

Many thanks Mark for the above info. My sky 100 remote has problems with buttons not working so my son gave me a Sky + HD remote which while it worked on his sky box it did not on mine, a now old digibox. Using your information it now works both the box and TV. At some time in the future it may need to control his box ie revert to original settings. Can you advise the procedure.

It's the same procedure, substituting a '2' (from memory) for the '0' in step 3. I'll check and confirm later today.
