Recently paired viewing card card to another sky plus box,everything working except I can't record anything unless am watching it,the older box I could record 2 different programs while watching something else, any ideas

Check your signal strengths (Services > Settings > Signal for a Sky+HD box). The white part of all four bars should be at least half way across.

Sky+ boxes should have 4 bars (see Q11 in My Sky Plus FAQ)

Only got 2 bars, when you look at ur settings screen it's showing 8 catagorys, but my signal has only 5

If it's a Sky+HD box and there are only two signal bars showing - one for strength and one for quality - you have Single Feed Mode turned on in your Sky box settings, which is why you can only watch or record one programme at a time.

You need to turn off Single Feed Mode in the hidden Installer Menu, which you access by keying Services,0,0,1,Select.
