Multiple issues with Sky + HD box

Sky Sports News and Sky Sports mix won't display in HD when other sport channels do.
Whenever my daughter downloads Waterloo Road from BBC Catch Up it tells us to upgrade to HD when on 101 (reigon wales) BBC One Wales is in HD on live.
Mini TV says its unavaliable on 301, 106.

If someone can help this would be great.

Sky Sports News and Sky Sports Mix aren't part of the Sky Sports add-on. They are part of Sky Signature so if you haven't got the basic HD add-on you won't see them in HD.

What do your signal strengths look like if you tune to either 306 or 106 and check (Services > Settings > Signal). The white part of all 4 bars should be at least half way across.
