Broadband is working fine in the house. Other devices are connected and working. One of the boxes I am able to watch normal sky Channels but network states FAIL. The other box won't come on at all and won't do a back up reset procedure

Your broadband is not working "fine" otherwise ALL connecting devices would get the Internet

Have you tried rebooting your Broadband router? Routers can need resetting because of one device giving an issue

Look at your DNS settings on your broadband router. I just had an issue using the Google Public DNS servers. Sky Q was complaining no internet however my laptop was successfully accessing most web sites. I noticed the sky forum was failing though. I have inserted Quad Q dns server 9.9.9.9 In front of the list on my broadband router(not a sky one) and low and behold the SkyQ box showed Internet Access has been restored. You could try any of the public DNS servers of your choice.
