Important information first, I don't have a current Sky subscription. I cancelled it a few years back because Sky was no longer getting any new programmes I liked, they were all moving to streaming services (except for House of the Dragon which I get a Now TV entertainment pass for). Since then I've been using the Sky+ box as a freesat box. As I no longer need any of the features of Sky+, could I just use an HD multiroom box instead? I ask as we're getting some new units and I need more compact devices and the multiroom box would take up less space than the bulkier Sky+ box.

Yes, the box should work, but you may have difficulty pairing your Viewing Card with it.

@Mark39 Are there any hacks if that happens? I recently bought a new multiroom box from eBay to replace our old hulking one from 2007 which took the viewing card without any problems. It did come with one already in there but I switched it out.
