pairing a card on SKY +

I have been trying to pair my Sy card on my SKY + HD box.

Going through the page on the web site.

The link on the ' activate my channels.sky.com/activate ' just loops back to the previous page. Impossible to find out how to pair my card.

Can someone correct this or report it to the webmaster ?

Try performing a New Install, this also pairs your card 🙂

Hi ,

I have been trying to pair my sky card to sky box + HD. I have tried using the web site , and the link on the page just loops back to the previous page, so no help there !

I have read through ALL the proposed answers and gone onto settings on my sky box, but there is no page to initialise/activate/reactivate the card, as one can see in the picture of my screen. So where do I go from here ?

A New Install does a callback and pairs the currently inserted card,

You need to follow the instructions in my FAQ, don't try analysing each step as you go

My problem is that I have sky neither broadband nor a telephone line connected to my sky box. I presume with neither that my remning option is to call ?

Hi, yes I do have a sky subscription .......... paid up and current, that is why I am posting screen shots of what I see on my sky box.

I have tried doing 0,0, 1 and also 4 as you set out in your instructions but nothing happens and there is no page for setting up a new card.......

Nothing happens until you press SELECT so the sequence is SERVICES 0 0 1 SELECT

Anyhow,phone Sky and get them to pair your card remotely

I've been in the same situation so I did a Box Software update then don't bother with the website, just download the App (I Have NO Internet or Phone line connected to the Sky Box)

On the (iPhone) app, login with your SkyID then click TV on the bottom rom, then 'Product Settings' then 'Activate Viewing Card'.

First time just got the cog of doom so after a couple of minutes I swiped ever app closed then re-started the SkyApp and went through the above and then got the form page up straight away, filled in the box details and was back viewing within a couple of minutes

One small point, not sure if because a Bourne film on 106 but I had to enter my 4-digit PIN to watch but then all channels working including TNT(BT) sports whith my other subscription.

yes, this is happening to me as well, what a piuzzle. Why cannot it be made easier? I don't want to get a PhD in computer science to watch TV...........

You have posted on a very old thread. If this is a new box, you can't now pair a viewing card to another Sky+ box. Sky Customer Services are available to provide advice and troubleshooting. Sky+, being a legacy package, is no longer supported by Sky.

Still call Sky to discuss your options moving forward which will be upgrading to Sky Q or moving to Glass / Steam to continue to view Sky content through a Sky subscription.

What's happening to you? This thread is a bit out of date. You can no longer pair a Viewing Card to a new box. It's locked to the box in use at the end of October last year.

My sky + hd suddenly shows a message the the viewing card needs to be paired. Oddly it's in only one room ( I have multi room). I've had sky for 20 years and this happens occasionally without apparent reason. I find this rather frustrating as the instructions to remedy simply don't work

I tried upgrading to SkyQ but when the engineer arrived he asked "which wall shall I bolt my ladder to?"

I sent him away, no one is drilling my walls. I am 73 and I can cheerfully go up a ladder without bolting it to a wall

H& S crazy

Failing to tether a ladder to a wall is a very serious breach of Skys very tough H & S rules.

That is a known issue where your multiscreen cards get canceled by Sky, you'll most likely need to give sky a call to see what can be done

The point is, sky works and I've been using it for a very long time. Then without reason or warning I am told to pair my viewing card. I want to watch tv, not spend half an hour figuring out how to fix what sky has unfixed
