Power LED? That suggests a fault in the box's power supply circuitry. The box will need replacing I'm afraid.

Box just suddenly turn off. Tried rebooting and power button on remote. Box just intermittently red light comes on for couple secs then goes off. Any suggestions. Thanks

The youngest Sky+ HD box is eight years old (they ceased manufacture in 2015) so irretrievable hardware failure is always a distinct possibility. Sky will advise you to move to Q: if you do not wish to do so, last model units are £20 to £30 on eBay.

The only possible reset with your box in that condition is a front panel reset. But I doubt it will do anything given that it looks like hardware failure. If you want to try it for your own peace of mind:

- switch off at the plug and then press and hold the left and right buttons on the front panel, (not the remote)

- switch back on keeping the buttons pressed and wait until LED cirle flashes

- when it does, press Select on the front panel and the LED circle will rotate backwards

When it stops your box has reset.

Failing that, replace the box, or switch to Sky Q or Sky Stream.
