Sound control was removed on Sky+ many years ago, you just have to change the TV volume for the sky box sometimes you need to adjust yhe volume per programme/channel

You cannot compared the Sky box sound output to the TVs internal tuner as they use different hardware

My dad has an older sky+HD box. He's been complaining of poor and muffled sound quality, compared to sound coming from the free view part of the TV. I can't see any volume control in sound options, I'm sure there used to be one. He's fiddled with sound settings, and sound perfectly adequate on apps and freeview but once switched to the sky input, all goes muffled and noticeably quieter. Is this possibly due to the age of sky+HD, and should he be contacting sky to get upgraded to q. The input he's on is an arc input.
