Failed delivery to gmail account

Received a failed delivery notification, with reason given:

550 5.7.26 Unauthenticated email from sky.com is not accepted due to domain's DMARC policy. Please contact the administrator of sky.com domain if this was a legitimate mail.

Anyone else experience this and know how to resolve?

For clarity, was this an email you sent from your Sky Yahoo Mail account? Or are you the Gmail recipient?

Well spotted! This was me attempting to send a Google calendar invite (via my sky yahoo mail account) to a Gmail user.

Hmm. It's not a regularly reported issue. A quick Google of the error message suggests that Gmail considers this particular email to be coming from an unreliable source. I don't know enough about email systems to understand the suggested solution and I'm fairly confident Sky customer advisers wouldn't either, if you were to call them. If it were me, I'd try again, and if the same error recurred I'd look for an alternative way to send the email. Sorry.

Thanks. This is exactly the same position I came at it from. Sky doesn't allow sufficient settings access that would afford me the opportunity to follow suggested troubleshooting steps.

Will try again and, failing that, seek alternative method of sharing.

I suffer from this regularly! I can't even send an email from Sky using my gmail account to my husband who is also a sky.com email address.

Sorry - I probably did not make that clear enough.

I use my Gmail account, but I have my Sky mail pop to it. I've had a Sky email address for about 20 years so occasionally, I need to forward an email and Gmail picks up that it's from the Sky account and automatically sends it as if it were from Sky. These are the emails that sometimes fail to Sky and other provider accounts.
I don't send any emails directly from my Sky account as it all comes to/from Gmail.

Yes I do. Gmail collects from my 2 Sky accounts.

When setting Gamil to collect email have you made sure the SSL option is ticked ?

Settings > See all settings > accounts and imports > check email from other accounts > select your email and hit edit info then you should see the SSL option.

If you are unable to send (or forward) from your Sky account via Gmail, you probably do not have the SMTP server correctly set up. The imortant thing is to use a generated password, and it is also here where you need to ensure SSL is used
