Email locked don't remember security question also did not set recovery phone number. I must have set recovery email address to same as the account I'm locked out from. When I try to resolve online I get code sent to the locked email account. So I go round in circles. I tried several times talking to support desk - in the end they said contact Yahoo - this is impossible - there is no telephone help for Yahoo. Any further suggestions to rescue my emails - they are important to me and I don't want to start afresh. Also the lock message says try again tomorrow even after one attempt to logon to email. I have tried from several sky yahoo email web pages and different email apps like outlook - to no avail. even on different windows computers and android tablets.

Hi @caesarome thanks for reply. This link only asks me to reset password on my sky id and not the email account which I'm trying to regain access to in order to addd new contact phone number and new alternative email address - adding these will help greatly to prevent me getting locked out in future. When I reset email with code it sends code to email account which is locked - so as mentioned previously I am going around in circles. The help desk have not been able to unlock my email account after several lengthy conversations costing me a fortune because I am not a sky talk member. When I set this up over 20 years ago I used the landline as a number and foolishly set the alternative email address to be the same as the one I have used all these years.

You should be able to reset the email password so make sure you enter the correct email address or ID on that link so you might need to logout of this forum before being able to do this.

The Sky ID and email passwords are the same, so changing your ID password changes your email password.

If you are unable to change the password using an email address, you should be able to set a new security question and use that to change the password.

Is there a way to fing all of my sky id's? I am thinking that I may be trying to change the password for my sky email which has a different sky id to my sky account page - which I can access fine. Any help or suggestions on this would be greatly appreciated.

As @jayach posted they're the same thing. Just use your Sky Yahoo Mail email address as the username when you log into your Sky iD.

When you log into your Sky account page, you should be able to select Sky Yahoo mail from the drop down menu in the top right hand corner. Where does that take you?

Hi @jayach this link takes me to a gmail account not my long standing sky.com email account. It also says the gmail account has been locked for breach of terms of service. But I can still access the same gmail account from the gmail login page. I deperately need to access my sky.com email account because it is linked to all my contacts for daily activities - banking and bills etc. Sky have failed to rescue my email and asked me to contact yahoo. I can not find any telephone numbers for UK yahoo email support anywhere sky help service are not very well informed how to fix this - noone seems to have any background on email fault finding and recovery. I will persevere with telephone calls to sky helpdesk until I get access.

That shouldn't happen. Try clearing your browser cache, or try your browser's incognito/privacy mode.

Hi @Mark39 did as you suggested by clearing all time browser cache and using privacy mode in MS Edge.

I am back to logging into email as shown in your pic bottom line. I entered my sky.com email address and the same password used to logon to sky id. Error message tells me incorrect username or password too many attempts try again tomorrow. It says before that the 6 digit code will be sent to my sky.com email - what's the point when this is where I am locked out from. I try alternative login suggestion but have no mobile phone number or alternative email set up from over 24 years ago when this email account was created. So in my case the password for the sky id and my sky.com emails are not the same - I tried looking for more sky id's created for my name - but none show. It has to be down to a customer service representative to unlock and let me reset everything to how it was working before it went south just over a week ago. either spam or hacking or breach attempt on my account must have broken this. Thankyou for your help so far.

As @Mark39 says, there is no way that link can take you to a Gmail account.

So what happens if you try to sign into Sky. using an incognito/private window, with your Sky email address here: https://www.sky.com/mydetails/sky-id

Can you set a new security question and use that to change your password?

Hi @jayach this link tells me my sky id associated email is my gmail account. If I try to change it to my sky.com email then a 6 digit code is sent to my sky.com email adress. I am unable to access my sky.com emails - so I cannot get the 6 digit code. should my sky id email be changed to my sky.com address? If so the landline number and possible other details have been associated here when the account was created ages ago.

Disregard the SkyiD email address. Have you tried to change the security question on that page?

I also have an alternative email address on that page, it's where forgotton password emails will be sent as they obviously can't be sent to the Sky email.

As @Mark39 asks, have you tried resetting the password once you have created a new security question?

Hi @jayach and @Mark39 yes I have reset the security question and then reset the password 3 times in the last few days. I still keep getting send 6 digit code to email "xxxxxxx@sky.com" also when I try using alternative method it just comes back with too many attempts.

it's beginning to sound like it's Yahoo that is sending the verification codes.

We have had that before, and the OP was able to resolve it, but it wasn't easy.

Hi @jayach I have filled out the online complaint form with sky to try and resolve this in the same way as the lady in the link tried. I will keep you posted with any results in due course. Thanks for the support so far P.

Hi arsenal+5 nope still waiting there is no point phoning either because it costs a fortune to be on hold for 20 mins because most of the helpdesk staff don't understand the problem or they say it is a yahoo problem - which it is NOT. Looking at other posts on this forum it can take weeks to get sorted - really frustrating to be locked out of my main email account it is surprising how daily life depends on an email account these days. I have had no problems in the 24 years I have used this account.... rant over!
