I recently set up 2 stage verification on my sky email account with my mobile phone number, so verification code could be sent. All went welll. Then! I had issues with my mobile phone account being hacked, and an attempt to change my Amazon account password. After this being resolved, when I then tried a sign in on sky email account, the verification phone number has been changed to an unknown mobile number.
