imap and pop - argh !!!

help please folks !!

Due to a pc error - i have reloaded my windows but really struggling with outlook 2016 and configuring my account. Can anyone confirm if the POP servers still work ?- i took photos of my current account before wiping my pc and can see incoming mail was pop.tools.sky.com port 995 and outgoing was smpt.tools.sky.com port 465.

any help greatly appreciated, when i put these in it is not happy !

The POP servers should still work as do the IMAP ones so what error are you seeing ?

Yes,.the POP servers work fine, I use them all the time.

Because you have reinstalled Outlook, it is probably being detected as a new client, so will need a new generated password,

https://www.sky.com/sky-yahoo-mail/manage-apps

If you want, you can also use the Yahoo server pop.mail.yahoo.com.

Does Outlook 2016 still support pop email?

Outlook 2019 certainly does, and I'm pretty sure @jayach uses POP with an older version.

The Outlook they are refering to there is the replacement for Windows 10/11 Mail.

It is basically the web version, bundled as an app.

It has nothing to do with Outlook on Desktop. i.e. the version included in Office.

Microsoft do like to confuse people with their names.
