I really don't understand how anyone can be fooled into thinking these emails are genuine. Genuine Sky emails will always address you by name, not by such titles as "Hello User". Secondly, the frantic nature of the message, designed to induce panic, and typed often in unecessary bold typeface is another giveaway. Finally, look up to the top left of the email to the sender's address; more often than not it comes from Fredbloggs@yahoo or some such, although lately they've got more clever, with the name 'Sky' sprinkled liberally amongst the line of the address. Stay safe folks, that is all.

I'm surprised by the number of people taken in by the scams.

I think one of the problems is the use of email apps on phones.

The obvious pointers you see on desktop clients, such as the actual email address behind the fake one, just isn't as visible on phone apps.
