Emails not downloading from server

For a few weeks now my emails aren't downloading and at the bottom of the page I keep getting this error;

Anyone else having issues and how do I fix it?
I tried deleting the app and reinstalling but it's just as bad. I'm on ISO VERSION 16.2.

Is the email account a Sky one if so there are ongoing issues so until these are fixed if you download the Outlook email app and use this you should be able to view your emails,

Yes, I've had the same for months! Plus I can receive emails but not send them, I've had to download a new email app.

6 months now and this is a daily issue. Real problems when you get sent a one time passcode with short shelf life.
GET IT SORTED SKY REDICULOUS.

Some more details would help if you want help, so are you logging into the Sky website as you don't have to use 2FA if you don't want.

If you are refering to the generated passwords, they do not expire. I doubt you mean 2FA as they have not been available for 6 months.

The irony of this. Is that this reply generated an email. Using my iPhone and clicking on the mail icon which has my sky/yahoo email account linked locked and loaded, to open the email I find it's not downloaded from the server 😂

am also just on the phone to my daughter car insurance company. 35 mins so far to get a code to set up her black box. This was apparently sent in an email that is not downloaded from the server. Three weeks ago and still not downloaded. 😳

I'm referring to any site that sends an email to me with a code to access anything. Eg. ticker. Car insurance. Sends a one time code to set up policy access, black box etc. can't open the email to get the code.

Scottish power have sent me an email to upload my meter readings. Can see the title but not downloaded.
I've tried to buy something through living social. They send the voucher code to my email. Can't order it yet because email not downloaded from server.
it's not a case of waiting either as some of these emails are weeks old.

router has been switched on and off that many times. Same as my phone.

@Shazzag69 that's understood. But can you login via the link @caesarome posted, and do you see your emails there? That rules out any issue with whatever email app you're using on your iPhone.

If you are ssaying you see the email header, but not the contents, that is a setting in the app you are using. (presumably Apple mail)

It basically sounds like you are suffereing the well known problem with Apple Mail and Sky|Yahoo.

There is no known cure, the only option is to use a different app.

Try Outlook.

Yes this is how I have to access emails with any confidence. It's the iOS app compatibility that's been the issue for some time. And it was only from a specific unknown date. It never happened before. So the work that needs to take place is around iOS compatibility. Maybe android as well but I'm not an android user??

Seems to be exclusively iOS/Apple Mail related. There haven't been similar problems reported on Android.

I have had the "message not downloading from server" problem for a long time. Interestingly I have just returned from an extended trip to Spain where I have a property and my own internet/wifi connection. MyISP is a local Spanish company. Not once did I have the error message either on wifi or cell. As soon as I got home to my UK network I started getting the problem again. This would suggest to me an issue with the network setup given that I had no problem in Spain. Having said that I can turn off my WIFI at my UK home and I still have the problem using my cellular network. Either way, I'm thinking its network related somehow, but have no idea how to go about progressing or proving this theory. Any ideas anyone ?

My emails are not downloading for 3days plus? "Not connected to server" appears & "error yahoo". I no longer access my emails from yahoo since having a new mobile - iPhone 15 a few mths ago albeit I access them via the envelope pic icon on my mobile main screen - please assist! Thank you.

You might want to install and use an app called Outlook instead @Cherflow and use these settings:

Select either "Other" or "Not Yahoo" then use these settings:

Incoming Mail (IMAP) Server

Server - imap.tools.sky.com
Port - 993
Requires SSL - Yes

Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server

Server - smtp.tools.sky.com
Port - 465
Requires SSL - Yes
Requires authentication - Yes

You will then need to generate a 16 digit password and use that instead of your usual one, you can do that here:

@Cherflow Apple's Mail app is known to be intermittently flaky. It will probably start working again eventually. Meanwhile you can access your email online via Sky.com or use an alternative app as @caesarome posted.
