i am receiving e-mails but cannot send , all state off line despite showing being connected except for Yahoo

You haven't said how you are recieving you emails (app?), but if you can send via the webmail https://skyid.sky.com/signin/email, you may need to use a generated app password for your app/client. https://www.sky.com/sky-yahoo-mail/manage-apps

Hi @jayach ,thanks for the reply , i am using Yahoo on my iMac , i have 4 emails ( including yahoo/sky ) and they are redirected to my iMac mail via Yahoo , as i say e-mails are coming though but i cannot send , three of the e-mails state they are connected but yahoo is not

Just to confirm - you're using the Yahoo Mail app on your iMac? Or are you using Apple Mail?

Hi @Mark39 all i can tell you is youis that it is mail forwarded from Yahoo to my iMac , i do not use the actual e-mail providers sites to send or rceive mail , it is all dealt with on my iMac

@ipb the reason for asking is that there are known problems with the built-in Mail app (it's called Apple Mail) on Apple devices such as the iMac. That may be the cause of the problem you're having.

I'm afraid I really can't see how you are doing that at all.

How is Yahoo handling the the non Sky|Yahoo addresses at all?

Did you set this up, and has it all been working until recently?

i have received some great answers and thank you for those ( forgetting that none of my e-mail addresses can send but can receive ) can i concentrate on my Yahoo e-mails , i can receive but cannot send from my iMac , i guess i'm using Apple mail as all my e-mail accounts show when i click on the mail icon at the bottom of the screen but still cannot send e-mails

I'm not familiar with Mac Mail, but all email clients use an SMTP server to send emails (probably a different one for each account)

So you need to check the SMTP settings for your accounts, does this help at all?

Change Outgoing server settings in Mail on Mac – Apple Support (UK)

For the Sky|Yahoo account, you may need to use a generated password.
