Problems accessing Sky/Yahoo email

Hi All,

I'm an apple user and as of today (9th March 2023) I suddenly am not getting updates to my email on an iphone or ipad using Apple Mail. When I log on directly from the web application I get an 'account problem' screen (see below once approved my moderator) which suggests I should phone for help however I am abroad at the moment so cannot call! No other options for chat etc seem to be available.

Anyone else getting this problem? I've not changed anything on my account and have been using the email daily for the whole of this year (and longer). My wife, who basically uses the same account (just different email address) has no such problems.

Not sure where to go.... any help most appreciated.

From memory, I believe the message means that Sky has detected some unusual activity in relation to your account. If you're connecting via a local broadband access point, it may be the provider's IP address is suspect.

You could try resetting your password just in case that clears it but otherwise I don't think there's anything you can do to fix it without Sky's intervention.

Can I call a 0344 number from outside the UK?

Some 0344 phone numbers will accept calls from outside the UK. If you are outside the UK and trying to call a 0344 number, you will need to amend the phone number with the international dialling code for the UK. To do this, you first dial the international dialling code, +44, and then omit the first zero from the start of the number.

You could try Twitter or Facebook Messenger as a way to contact Sky about this.

I also had the very same issue myself a couple of years ago and after the third phone call I got my account unlocked.

Thanks for the response. It took two very long calls (mobile from abroad and veery expensive!) to sort out. First call didn't resolve but on 2nd call a tech managed to unlock my account. It was only locked because I had tried to sort out the lack of access and apparently tried too many times!! Still don't understand the root cause of the problem. I've had this email address for 15 years and it's always functioned then 2 days ago it stopped...

Anyway v. pleased to be able to access again.

Who did you call as my daughter has same issue and we've called SKY twice with no luck so far

Keep trying @GillianW78 as sadly it can take a few calls as I said above as it did with me but sooner or later you will get through to someone that can help.

You need to call the number in the message you are given. Unfortunately the agents are very "variable".

Is your daughter able to log in here? https://www.sky.com/myaccount/my-details as sometimes you can cure it yourself by changing the password.
