Missing emails

On one of my Sky email accounts, a whole block of emails (about 8 months worth) have vanished. Not in trash or Junk just completely disappeared.

I miss the good old days of POP email because once they were downloaded, they were there for good. IMAP not so reliable.

I use POP for exactly that reason. And you can, of course, back up a POP mail file,for even greater resilience.

You can still use POP with your email account if you want via an email client:

Incoming Mail (IMAP) Server

Server - pop.tools.sky.com
Port - 995
Requires SSL - Yes

As to your emails it might be worth try this but you should be aware that it might not work:

If they are restored then it would be advisable not to store all your emails in your inbox if this is where they were located, but instead set up seperate folders to keep them in.

I still use POP because, with Outlook, it is the only way to get multiple email addresses to use the same inbox.

I've had the same issue, emails from 2021 and 2022 to-date have dissapeaed from my inbox, did you ever get a resolve on your issue?

You could try Yahoo's recovery process here. It's designed for Yahoo Mail not Sky Yahoo Mail, but it might work: https://uk.help.yahoo.com/kb/account/recover-lost-deleted-emails-sln2552.html

If not, and you don't have a backup, they're gone for good, I'm afraid.
