Why can I no longer "BLOCK" spam emails I keep receiving?????

Hi,

My question is on the "subject line"

At one time we could block annoying repeat spam emails - why can I no longer do that???

The system should learn they are spam

if you keep marking them as such. It is not possible to block any emails but you can also use filters so that they don't end up in your inbox but are sent straight to the spam folder instead.

At one time you could "BLOCK" any spam that annoyed you!

Why can't they bring that action back again??

You clicked on the "options" button far right top line, then clicked "block" and it was gone forever!!!

You can block senders from the more actions menu, but it will only act on the selected email address, and spam usually comes from random addresses.

Could do this on Firefox Opera and edge and no longer able to on any of them the option has dissappered and the solution now is so long winded as before you could just left click the box on the left of each email be it one or fifty one then clcik the 3 circles on the far left just after the spam option and a drop down appears and you ahd the option to block all the ones highlighted.

With how many emails we all get each week or even each day from scammers fraudsters etc etc really is pretty poor of any email provider to not have this set up as it used to be to quickly remove these scum emails.

@speed098 not sure what the cause of this is, as the block option is still there for some. That would suggest a browser, settings or cookies issue of some sort.

As @Mark39 says , the option is there for me and I don't recall anyone else having the same complaint.

I certainly get my fair share of those, but the Yahoo spam filter works very well for me, so I never see them unless I look in the spam folder.

So I see that I have blocked 1000 out of a possible 1000 to be used. So now do not get the option to block more. Which is a pain indeed. Come on sky in this age of spammers and scammers we need a lot more options to block this out

As it is Yahoo who provide and manage the email service it would be them they would need to implement this but with spam is the key is to keep on reporting them as spam so that they arte automatically filtered because you could have a thousand filters in place but you still wouldn't be able to stop more spam from arriving.

@Discodavey to be honest, I'm not sure there's much point blocking spam emails, unless you get them consistently from the same email address (which is unlikely). Better to report them as spam, which over time will lead to them being blocked by Sky/Yahoo.

Some email providers seem to be better than others at handling,spam, though, to be fair, I receive very little via Sky Yahoo Mail either. I suspect a lot depends on your online activity.

To be honest a 1000 limit is not acceptable in this day and age and any tech company with any clue at all could easily have a log of these blocks and when they reach a certain number it automatically removes it from the individuals block and adds it to Sky/Yahoo's own system block.

Before reaching the 1000 limit these blocks DID make a difference I was only getting a few slip through at most per day now it is easily a min of 12 and many days probably getting to be around 20 and I see this problem only increasing.

As many of these spams emails are trying to con money out of people I hold it is the responsability of the service provider to do as much as possible to protect their customers from these criminals and not doing so makes themas bad as these criminals.

1000 possible bocks is more than enough for anyone. Spammers/Scammers do not come cosistantly from one email address, they change the address use all the time.

You are using the block facility incorrectly, it's not for spam, that is what the spam filter is for.
