It is pretty obvious that emails from Sky would not come from an @Ntlworld address.

The will definately have sky somewhere in the domain.

I got this email recently and when I clicked on the link my Norton protection stopped it going further as it highlighted it as a dangerous site. I am assuming that this is spam and so what I need to know is what '@' extension do I need to look for in the 'sent by' email address to ensure any correspondence that I get from 'Sky' is actually legitimate??

Ta Kindly x x

Your Norton protection is right, that email isn't from Sky so whatever you do don't click through that link and mark it as spam so it and any others you might receive get deleted.

Emails from Sky would usually be address to you personally and not as this ones says as "Hello User".

I agree, that message is not from Sky. A similar scam email is circulating to ntlworld email addresses purporting to come from Virginmedia.
A big giveaway is that the email starts with Dear User, no doubt a genuine email would mention you/the account holder by name.
