Hi, please can someone explain how I change the password on a family members email account (not the one I use to login to sky)

The family member needs to login to this link to change their password so make sure you are both logged out of here and your own email account if you are doing this for them:

We can't login because my family member ha forgotten their password!!!!!!

@dorydelayfish so use the link @caesarome gave you. The family member needs to enter their Sky Yahoo Mail address, then on the next page, tap on the forgotten password word link.

If it has changed your password then clearly you were logged in with your details as you need to login either their details and not yours.

@dorydelayfish as @caesarome posted, logging in with your Sky ID won't work.

I have now tried this and the password I put in still doesn't work on my family members email account

How does your family member access their emails, do they login to the Sky website or use an app and whatever it is what is the error message they are seeing ?

Using iPhone email software and the message they keep getting is 'Incorrect Password Emter the Password for the IMAP Account familymember@sky.com"

The IMAP connection is probably set to use an old sign in mechanism so you should try to remove the account from your email software and add again - add it as a yahoo account and follow the instructions and it will ask you for the password on the account this time.

@Dorydelayfish1 there's a known, long standing issue with Apple's Mail app, if that's what you're using, which may be complicating the issue. It's intermittent and when it strikes, your password is rejected even when it's correct. It usually goes back to normal within a few days.

Please can you also try just recreating the email account altogether not using IMAP but using a direct sign in to yahoo mail?

I very much doubt the problem is the Apple one, that usually results in "server not found".

To confirm they now have the coorrect password, ask them to try logging in here: https://sky.com/signin/email/ if that gives wrong password then they still don't have the correct password.
