I have followed all the steps to disable this annoying verification...I inserted my recovery code and then find I am still getting the page up to say set it up. I DON'T WANT IT.

This is the most annoying thing ever, inconvenient and a pain I do not want it so how do I bypass the page telling me to set itup again.

It has now been turned on for everyone no matter if you want it or not so it is no longer possible to turn it off as you did before.

One slight work around is to tick the "remember me" box and do not logout then for the next 30 days as long as you stay logged in and do not logout you should be able to access your emails without a verification code being required.

But for SKY management - some of us prefer / use a PC NOT a mobile phone. As a matter of fact I switch my mobile phone off at night. It is a communication device when needed - not a way of life. But with your 2 stage verification that means a code has validity for 5 seconds, my phone taks longer to start up. Hence your 2 stage verification is aimed solely at a generation that is phone-dependent as a total way of life. I suggest you review the Pareto principle [removed] . In other words you are serving 80% of your customers who pay your wages and deliberately ignoring the 20% who cannot / don't want to be slaves to phones but also pay your wages. It is a simple thing to transfer the risk that 2 stage verification alleges provides onto the customer by making them aware of the risk and making the decision to opt out theirs, not yours to be forced in. Further you carry a risk by the suggestion of not signing out to provide 30 days. Think about it - never signing out of a service for 720 hours - continuously logged in? Is that not a severe risk or is this part of your "security" developers inability to understand the management of risk / legal liability. [removed]

P.S.

not signing out. One presumes that if one shuts down one's device (phone / PC) at night - then one is essentially signing out by default. In which case one has to do it all - all over again every day. Technology is / was supposed to make one's life easier - not appease corporate panickers who do not understand risk transfer. As it stands, if a person solely used SKY e-mail, but truggled to get into it and missed say a critical hospitala appointment then SKY would be considered to have a liability for the consequence as a) NHS works towards paperless and b) it is the impediment of 2 stage verification that has been imposed without an opt out clause that renders SKY liable for consequences of being unable to access e-mail communications. As it stands SKY is taking the risk if a customer fails due to a lack of opt out. Maybe SKY doesn't care - that seems to be the prevailing way. Sad as the SKY-Yahoo platform works well (for me anyhow) particularly on a PC.

P.P.S. even online banking allows for 2 stage verification as an option. Which is more imopoortant as risk - Corporate SKY or online banking. SKY are really going down the tubes if they continue to persist and if access to important e-mails by shutting down daily means a life is compromised. If I was a perseceuting lawyer i'd get my pensils sharpened as without adequate prior warning not been adequate and then enforcement and dither with software means SKY cocked it up and more so with no opt out clause that stays put, or, gets a 30 day review

complaint sent to SKY vis e-mail link provided about lack of opt out clause that is usual practice and how SKY reputation is plumetting and that if a user misses a critical e-mail due to the palaver of compulsory requiring a mobile phone and must use code within 10 minutes (ever lost a phone - put it somewhere, or, turned off as people do) creating panic, then for a missed critical e-mail then SKY is potentially liable as no opt out feature whereby user carries risk
