Changing sky yahoo email address password isues

I used to be with sky for phone line and broadband, I have my log in details for my sky ID etc.

I am currently a victim of identity theft as soneone is applying for bank accounts/credit cars and loans in my name.

I went to change my email password just in case they have somehow gained access to my emails but I cannot chnage the password, I am certain I have changed my password a few times over the last few years and dont rememeber havng this issue.

I go to the change password option on my Sky ID page and none of the links work when clicking on them. Password, scurity question, 2 step verification and mamange devices.

How can I change mypassword to make sure my account is safe, i use Lastpass and create string passwords for all my account none of them use the same password, I use 2 step and biometrics whereever possible as well.

Wow, you certainly take all the correct precautions, so I'm surprised you were a victim of identity theft.

For the problem of links not working, i would suggest using a different browser from your usual one.

However, is it possible your device has been compromised, just what do you use?

I have tried on my phone and now my PC it is the same whatever browser or device i use I cannot physically chnage the password, I dont have any products with sky anymore but can still log in to my Sky ID account.

I believe this is from the M&S cyber attack last year as this has only just started to happen and that is the only place they could have gotten hold of all the deatails they are using as far as I can tell. I have some data that is being leaked on the dark web from many years ago with old passwords that were compromised cant een remember how, hence why I upped my online security using last pass etc etc. But that was only email adddress and passwords. they have my full name, dob, addrress and mobile phone number, I have all my ID in my possesion not lost anything other than a passport maybe 20 years ago, that was reported as stolen/lost and is well out of date anyway.

I do have other email addresses so maybe it is time to change my emails on all my accounts but that will be a nightmare hence why I keep using my sky yahoo email as my main email address for anything important.

You say the links on the details page don't work, but that can't be anything to do with the account possibly being compromised, the links should work, even if the details had been changed.

What about if you use this direct link? https://id.sky.com/change/password/

It will ask you to setup 2FA first, if you don't already have it.

Well that link takes me to a reset password page so I'll try that later today need to go to bed now.

So hopefully that will resolve that issue for now at least.
