Sky email stopped working on gmail app

For many years I access my sky email on my Samsung phones via gmail app. For last few days I don't receive new emails but can send. I've restarted mobile. I've followed everything suggested and finally deleted email address. I now cannot re add email as I get error messages 'can't connect to server'. I'm accessing my emails via sky.com at present on my mobile but when I have tried to turn notification button message says 'error detected' Can anyone please help. I just want my emails all on app (I have gmail address as well) or at least be able to get notifications using sky.com. Thanks
