Accessing sky email via yahoo app password issue

I have had problems accessing sky email via the yahoo app. Two step verification removed by sky, eventually

on speaking with Sky many, many times, advised it was broken , working on it 5-7 working days. After this time no access. Sky advised broken still, 5-7 days. No access after this next wait.

phoned again to be told that the problem is now on the yahoo side and possibly the two step verification not removed. Allow 21 days.

Tried a few times to log in, but says my password is in correct and wants to email me at Sky. Can't accept this as I can't log in to sky email via yahoo. Going round in circles again and again and again. Been 7 days of the 21 day 'max' wait.

any texts sent are not being received from Sky. (They don't know why. - 'possible issue with Sky')

Anyone else had this issue?

Yes, as mentioned, I am told by sky the problem must be on the yahoo side..

2 step verification is required - Sky says yahoo as Sky have removed on their side. Recovery code says it is incorrect. I do not receive any texts from Sky.

@Impra as you can log in successfully via the link I posted, 2 step verification has been removed from your Sky Yahoo Mail account.

Why can't you accept the email that the app wants to send you, if you say you can log in successfully via the link I posted?

If the Yahoo app is claiming your password is incorrrect, you could try using an app password rather than your normal Sky Yahoo Mail password. No, I can't log in. Stopped at 2 step verification

2 step vertication required. Sky says removed must be yahoo side.

@Impra you're confusing me now. Previously you said you could log in via the link, now you say you can't.

If it's still asking for a Verification Code, then 2 step verification hasn't been removed, as you rightly say.

That has nothing whatsoever to do with Yahoo. Yahoo can't remove it. It's Sky's 2 step verification system, Yahoo's is quite different.

Fobbing you off to Yahoo is sadly typical of what a Sky adviser will say when they don't know that there's a specialist Sky team behind the scenes that can do it.

In your position, my next step would be to raise a complaint, in writing: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/how-to-make-a-complaint

Fobbed off on ever phone call us 100% correct.

No worries @Impra 🙂

I hope you get this resolved soon. We've had the same problem reported numerous times, ultimately fixed by Sky so we know they can deal with it.

If you decide to set up 2 step login again once you get it resolved, be sure to make a separate note of the Recovery Code - with that you can turn off 2 step login yourself, whenever you wish.
