Loss of email account and emails due to scam

Last week I lost the use of my email account.

I hadn't got sky anymore except for my email account.

I can't recover it as sky says there is no known contact with my details.

After spending almost 30 minutes on a call to sky, they recommended that I ask my ex partner to call them as she still has a contract and that would help.

They did say that they would block the email account.....

What I would like to know is,

Would doing it get me back my email account & would the old emails and contacts still be there? It seems pointless if it has all gone.

All my contacts have been getting emails, supposedly from me, asking for different things & also trying to gain their details, emails etc.

I'm struggling to see how your ex partner contacting Sky would help, unless the email account is actually appended to their Sky account. However, if that's Sky's suggestion, I would give them the benefit of the doubt.

As to whether your emails would still be present, it's impossible to know. It just depends on what the scammer has done. From what you've said, it seems likely that your contacts are still present and being misused by the scammer.
