Can’t access email. Abroad, do not have same number or recovery code

I had to reset my email password as I forgot it. But now to login I need to do the two step authentication. I'm in south east asia without my UK sim card, and don't recall ever setting up a recovery code. I can't call sky from here either.

You might be out of luck as Yahoo have stepped up security when trying to access emails accounts from abroad.

If you have never set up two step authentication then there should be an option of the page to not set it up.

If you have set this up previously then when you did you will have been shown a recovery code which it asked you to make a note of or to forward the email with it in to a different email account for safe keeping. If you don't have access to it then your only option to call Sky but be aware there will be a 21 days later which wait for them to unlock your account,

The Recovery Code is generated automatically when you set up 2 step verification. It's displayed on screen with a recommendation that you make a separate note of it, which you have to acknowledge in order to proceed. It's also sent to your email account.

Sky can turn off 2 step verification for you if you ask them to, but it will take 3 weeks to do so, so may not be of any use to you if you'll be back in the UK within that period.
